Pilgrim
St Ninian's Cave on the atmospheric Isle of Whithorn is called the cradle of Scottish Christianity. St Ninian landed here in the late AD 300s and the cave remains a place of pilgrimage. Stones left as offerings in its shallow mouth draw you in despite signs warning of rockfalls.
This beautiful, weathered rock is nestled into the hill across the bay. The textures of lichen and moss drew my attention as we walked the coastal path.
